i took it down to colchester today and got my arse kicked big time i dont understand cos everyone has said get a new car better speed controler changed the gear ratios suspension positions get a better handset and still nothing can someone HELP

can u explain wats wrong with the car, eg, no speed , grip,  ur driving  

ps , will u be at ipswich next sunday if u r come over and ill have a look at ur car.

no speed allright grip alittle understeer just mainly the speed that bugs me cause losing so much time because of it

wat motor , brushes, gearing are u running.

around ipswich on a 27 turn monster i gear mine 6.50 with trinity 4499 brushes and trinity purple springs

on a 19 turn i gear it 6.00 purple springs and xxx lemans brushes

the drivers at colchester are prob using brushless and lipos wich are faster

the motor is a epic roar motor i will get some of those springs and brushes that you said and at the mo it is geared at 5.71
thats with 84tooth spur 25tooth pinion 48dp i was going to clean the comm by the weekend just with a edge red com stick will galaxy do the purple springs aswell?

if ur going to put new brushes on its better to skim the motor first if u dont i have a comm lath ive got one i cud skim ur motor on sunday.
jon at galaxy shud have the springs u want, if he hasnt im sure someone at the club will have some if not i mite have some

Mark is right, don't be too upset by the speed at Colchester against their normal drivers, they are probably using modified or brushless motors that will be a lot quicker. Don't listen to "the get new everything brigade".
Many racers at Ipswich areusing "old" gear to great effect. My Car for instance is at least 4 versions behind the lastest Tamiya.

Have a world with John Green as he is I believe running the same car as you

so should the 5.71 ratio that ive got be ok, because to get the 6.50 ratio i would need to go down to a 22tooth pinion and would be 6.49 according to GEARCHART.COM.

P.S would it be ok to use your comm lathe mark and i will bring the brushes and springs if galaxy have got them

dont i no it u and couple of other peole r still quick with old cars ,motors, batts..

i wud start bout 6.50 to start with then go from there untill the feels quick on the straight and infield.

yeah ill do ur motor 4 u , if u see barry or paul f he will show u where i pit..
