General Rules

All drivers and pit crew that wish to be allowed inside the track area must be BRCA members. An option to join the BRCA via Chippenham Model Car Club is offered on the entry forms

Cars must be built as the instruction manual, and parts cannot be modified unless specifically referred to in these or the class rules. Body posts can be cut down to suit.

Arial position is free of restrictions to allow freedom from interference. Parts used for this mounting can be non Tamiya as long as it does not destroy the original form of the car.

A transponder mount can be fitted to the car. This does not need to be of Tamiya parts, and must not destroy the original form of the car.

Bodyshells must be cut as shown in the manual. A finish of some kind must be applied to the bodyshell, No clear shells. Windows maybe clear, tinted, or using the supplied decals. Wheels and tyres must fit under the wheel arches of the bodyshell. Front bumpers may be cut to suit inside of bodyshell.

Cells must be 7.2v, 6 cell, sub-c sized rechargeable Ni-mh or Ni-cd packs that are commercially available at time of the meeting. Lithium Polymer cells are NOT permitted. Stock classes have some cells type restrictions, see class specific rules for details.

Radios must be crystal interchangeable with at least 3 different frequencies available at each meeting. The use of 2.4ghz radios is also allowed, inline with BRCA regulations.

Qualifying will consist of a minimum of 3 rounds (announced at the start of the meeting) and FTD will be sorted on highest number of laps achieved in any one heat. In the event of a tie in number of laps completed, the time taken on the competitor’s best qualifying heat will be used.

Finals will consist of a maximum of 10 cars. All finals will have full 10 car grids other than the bottom final that will be made up of the remaining competitors. If a competitor decides not to contest their final, the grid space will be left empty, i.e. No promoting of positions. There will be 2 of each final at every meeting. The grid for both finals will be the same.
Races and heats will be 5 minutes plus the time taken to finish the last lap.

Points are awarded on the final results. 1st =100pts, 2nd = 99pts, down to 100th =1pt. Plus an extra point for TQ. Drivers will get 2 separate points scores from each meeting, both of which are out of a maximum of 101pts. In the event of a meeting being cancelled during proceedings, as long as 2 full rounds have been completed then points will be awarded on qualifying. The points will be awarded on the current FTD standing of the last fully completed round.

Championship standings will be decided on the best 6 results from 10 rounds In the event of a tie. The 11th best result will be used, then 7th, then 8th and so on.

The Champions from the M-Chassis, Stock (Open) and Superstock classes will be invited to race at the Tamiya World Championships held in Japan in November. All drivers other than those that have previously been invited to Japan in any class are eligible to qualify for the World Championships classes. Once a driver has qualified for either class of the World Championships, they will not be allowed to qualify again in any class.
Drivers that have previously been to the world finals in Japan either via the European finals or by direct qualification from the UK championship are allowed to participate in the UK series at the organisers digression. Points for these drivers will be awarded as normal.

As new parts become available from Tamiya, they will become legal for the relevant classes with a 1 race notice period, for example if a part is available from between rounds 2 and 3, details will be sent out with the confirmation letter for round 3 and the part will be available from round 4 onwards.

Minimum weight for the car ready to run either including personal transponder or excluding handout transponder is 1500g (M-Chassis 1200g).

Only 1 timing device to be active at any time.

Other issues not clarified will be handled at the discretion of the race organisers
