Have just completely re-built the MRE ready for Southend.
Really looking forwad to round one of the STCC 2008, and am just awaiting some nice new NiMH's for the season, as even 3200 Trakpower Lipo's don't fit the car!

You could always buy a TRF 416.  Lipo's fit well
 We'll be at Southend too!!!

Have a word with Mr C on racechat as he assured us that they fit all cars

Believe me they don't. I got two sets of the 3200 Trakpower on Friday and they are too big. Usual problem of having to dremel away too uch metal for the screw retaining the cross brace on the right rear bulkhead to have anything left to locte into.Their website states they are 20.8mm thick, when I measured them they are 22.75mm thick, only 0.25 less than the stated measurement for the 4900's.

Dont worry i should have a power supply sorted by then!

I also need to get some new cells like Ian. I havent bought the trakpower 3200s but dont think there going to be up to the job in mod.

What are you going to gor for Ian?

If you go for Lipo's check the discharge rates of the different packs available.
For the Trakpower 3200's they give 64amp continuous, 96 amp peak and 128amp max burst. For the 4900's it is 122.5 continuous, 171 peak and 250 max burst.
Whilst 3200's might be OK for 13.5 0r 10.5 I suspect you'd need the 4900's for mod.
I'm waiting on Hong Kong to deliver some new Orion 4200's which should arrive by the weekend.
Interestingly Trev has said that one well known driver has opted not to go for Lipo this season, but is sticking to NiMH's. Have to see how it all pans out.

Well to be honest i think that ill be sticking with NiMh cells this year as well! I just dont want to have to cut my car about to fit the higher capacity packs in!

Plus i dont think there will be much difference compared to a good pack of cells! Just need to get a few good packs now
