and dose it balence as well mate or do i have to but the balance thing aswell i know im a bit thick but dont want to mess a lipo up lol
CuttingEdge

Not sure It looks like the one Ian uses I am sure he will let you know

I use the Core which looks very cool but takes to long to ballance

http://demonpowerproducts.co.uk/p...cPath=91_140&products_id=3801

And I use the Bantam which is great for charging and ballencing but you need a separate ballancer

http://www.modeltech.co.uk/

Click the link above then chargers on the left The Bantam is the £49.99 301DX but it is 12 volt only and you need the balencer as well as shown in the picture .........

I would go with what you have found If Ian says its ok , I know you can get them from Hong Kong on Ebay for about £30 inc postage and then arrive normally within a week

i use that charger for my lipos its a realy good charger, i think i paid bout £45 new from galaxy models.
greyfox

Yes, that's the one I use as well. I got the balancing lead from Galaxy, but rather than cut and solder the plugs onto the lead, carefully extracted the pins from the plug.
Get the lead from Galaxy, don't let them solder anything onto it and I can easily make it up for you.

cheers guys very helpfull yet again
gearing1983

are the trakpower 3200s any good cause there are a couple on a popular bidding site going soon or just get one 4900????
gearing1983

which lead is it called mate and i will order one or get on from galaxy
markw

best bet go and c john at galaxy models he b able to sort a lead out for u.

the 3200s lipos will b fine i think couple of people at the track use them (lan and leigh use them i think).... i use the track power 4900s i had them for a year and they still going strong

You need to get the 2S lead (J connector I think it's called) it has 2 x red and 1 x black lead,  but John in Galaxy will know what you need.
Look for the 'C' rating as that dictates the conctant current draw capability.
I've used 2 x Trakpower 4900 25C for a year now, with no problems. Reason I've got two is that I can use one and charge the other whilst racing.
3200 or 3600 with either 25C or 30C will be fine for 13.5 or 10.5 brushless, as I draw around 2-2300 out of my batteries for a 5 minute run.

Are you sure the charger is putting out the correct current?

I bought two chargers from a major UK supplier, both had to be sent back - expected them to be replaced but got full refund instead!

One showed 5 amp charge but was actually charging at 2.5 amp, voltage was also 0.2V out.

Second was showing correct amp on charge but was 0.6V out.

Both where the same charger and Chinese, so beware of the cheaper chargers, luckily mine were bought in the UK, if I had to return them overseas it would have cost as much, if not more, than the chargers.

Hence I am borrowing chargers this weekend to run my Lipos (thanks guys) - as only just got the info re balancing leads on a charger that will do two packs at the same time (though independently) but the cost is a bit more so not quite sure which way to go

I only have one set 4900s as this hopefully will be enough.
Will have 2 sets  of 3200s saddles for the buggy
