Just a reminder that the 1st Round for 2WD takes place this weekend (Sunday 26th April) at MERCC (Gt Braxted).
There are only 2 Rounds this year, both to count, and the 2nd one is at Coastal on August 16th.
I have received 1 entry so far from your club and would obviously liked to have seen more.
If anyone wants to race then either
contact me on 01362 695062

Well an interesting day's racing at MERCC for the first round of the East of England Regional Championship. A total of 15 drivers took part in the 2wd class, which was far lower than anticipated, due mainly to all of the Lawford drivers being at the Manningtree car show and no-one else from Coastal!!
The track is usually used for nitro cars so plenty of room for racing. The grass was longer than normal (about 1.5 inches) but it soon laid down to make the track very driveable and quick. Some good features on it as well with a small table top, bomb hole and bunny hops.
My Losi XXXCR had its first real run after being fitted with yet another GTB esc, and it performed flawlessly all day - hooray.
I qualified 7th in the A final, which given the standard of drivers there was for me a good result. Had an 8th, 4th and 7th in each of the finals and ended up 7th overall after getting the same number of points as two other drivers.
Make sure you dust off your buggy and get entered for round two at Coastal on the 16th August, as it is great fun and definitely a meeting to be involved with.

I will be racing at the next one. Unfortunately i was busy winning the manningtree car show. Grass that long must have dragged some power out of the batteries.

Just a small report on the first Regional Round.
15 drivers raced at the 1st 2WD Regional at Gt Braxted hosted by MERCC on Sunday 26th April.
12 of these competed for the 2009 2WD East of England Regional Championship.
These numbers were very disappointing but those present provided a great days racing and I would like to thank everyone for attending.
The weather was excellent and the perfectly prepared track led to fast and competitive racing.
Drivers from 4 clubs were represented and I would like to thank all of those who attended. Thanks also to MERCC for providing an excellent venue
The A Final was made up of drivers from 4 different clubs. Unfortunately no F3s were present.
Congratulations to David Orbell for a clean sweep in the Finals – he won each of the 3 legs. Jonathan Brown was top qualifier finishing 2nd overall with 3 runner up spots.
Top F5 was James Crockart who finished 5th, Top F4 Carl Dufton who finished 6th.
As already mentioned no F3s attended the meeting.
The other Final winners were B Final - Huw Williams and in the Open Final Grant Williams took first place from Andy Carter.
Grant also won the Marshall-Less race from Andy and Jonathan.
Thanks again and well done everyone for yesterdays meeting.
Please note that the next Regional Meeting is at Ipswich – Coastal Model Car Racing Club, on Sunday 7th June – this being the first round of the 4WD Championship and I look forward to seeing more drivers at this meeting.

With the first round of the 4WD Championship to be held at Coastal Model Car Racing Club Ipswich tomorrow this is the last reminder for drivers to get their entries in as quickly as possible.
This will enable the heat lists to be prepared early and should help us in getting started on time.
So far the top 3 drivers from last years series are all officially booked in plus 4 others.
Please ensure that you have your BRCA membership cards with you if you have not been to the previous 2WD Regional this year.
Given that the Region had 26 drivers taking part in 4WD last year I look forward to more bookings in the next few days.
